Clifton Automatic Screw Machine Products, Inc. was founded in 1938 by Harry Clifton. The business was operated at 217 West 11th Street in Erie, PA. In 1973, the business was sold to the Podufal family who continued operating at the same location. In 1979, the Podufals bought Wolf Metal Products at 9937 Sampson Ave. in Lake City, PA. They then combined the operations at the Lake City site and sold the Erie plant and the excess equipment. The name Clifton Automatic Screw Machine Products, Inc. was retained.
